Is the courses offered by the NIELIT, are recognized by the Government?

Yes, Level O/A/B is duly recognized by Govt.of India. Recognition of C level is under process.

What is the required eligibility of VLE to register for NIELIT facilitation center?

Required eligibility criterion for VLE to register their CSC as NIELIT facilitation center is:

• He/she must be NIELIT CCC or MCA/M.Sc (Computer Science)/BE/B.Tech/NIELIT O/A/B/C Qualifier/BCA/PGDCA qualifier.
• CSC center should have proper infrastructure and required furniture
• VLE must have 5-10 computers with proper Internet connectivity
• Proper environment for students.

What is registration fee for VLE to register for NIELIT facilitation center?

Registration fee which is required to be submitted by VLE to establish his/her CSC center as NIELIT facilitation center is Rs 8260.

What is the VLE commission?

Commission for VLE as facilitation center of NIELIT is:

• Online form submission and fee collection: Rs 38.50
• Examination form submission, fee collection and Printing of Admit Card: Rs. 21.

What is Course on Computer Concepts (CCC)?

The computer literacy programme of the Society is an outcome of the recommendation of National Task Force on Information Technology and Software Development. This course is designed to aim at imparting a basic level IT Literacy programme for the common man. After completing the course the incumbent should be able to the use the computer for basic purposes of preparing his/her personal/business letters, viewing information on internet (the web), receiving and sending mails, preparing his business presentations, preparing small databases etc. This helps the small business communities, housewives, etc. to maintain their small accounts using the computers and enjoy in the world of Information Technology.

What is duration of CCC Course?

Normally the CCC course duration is 80 hours (Theory: 25 hours + Practical: 50 hours. + Tutorial: 5 hours.)

What are the eligibility criteria for CCC Course?

The candidates can appear in the NIELIT CCC Examination either through NIELIT approved Institutes which are permitted to conduct CCC Course and having obtained E-Provisional no./Registration no. or as Direct applicant irrespective of any educational qualifications.

What is the minimum age required for applying for CCC Examination?

Since this is a course on computer appreciation, there is no minimum or maximum age limit for applying for CCC Examination.

How many papers are there in CCC examination?

Only 1 paper.

What are the minimum marks required to qualify CCC successfully?

50% marks are the minimum marks required.

What is the mode of examination?

The examination is conducted in Online mode i.e. no pen/pencil/paper is required.

How many questions to be attempt and what is the duration of examination?

The examination of CCC comprises of 100 objective type questions of 1 mark each, and the candidate is required to attempt the 100 questions in 90 minutes. There is no negative marking.

Where can a student appear in the CCC Examination?

Normally, the exam centres allotted to candidates is according to his/her centre choice (city) filled by the candidate. NIELIT have right to allot the other exam centre that has not filled by candidate.

Can a student submit more than 1 examination form in single exam cycle?

No.

What is Basic Computer Course (BCC)?

In step with effort to achieve the objective of achieving computer literacy in an inclusive manner, NIELIT has launched a new programme, “Basic Computer Course (BCC)”. The objective of the course is to impart basic level computer appreciation programme with more emphasis on hands on training. The Course is designed for VIIIth Standard pass students. Initially, the course was conceived as to boost the concept of introducing a course on computer fundamentals, especially for students, studying vocational courses at ITIs/ITCs. The BCC was launched in year 2011. The programme can equip a person to use the computers in day-to-day life for professional and personal use.

What is duration of BCC Course?

Normally the BCC course duration is 36 hours (Theory: 10 hours + Practical: 22 hours. + Tutorial: 4 hours.)

What are the eligibility criterions for BCC Course?

The candidates can appear in the NIELIT BCC Examination either through NIELIT approved Institutes which are permitted to conduct BCC Course and having obtained E-Provisional no./ Registration no. or as Direct applicant irrespective of any educational qualifications.

What is the minimum age required for applying for BCC Examination?

40% marks are the minimum marks required (with effect from July 2014).

The examination of BCC comprises of 50 objective type questions of 1 mark each, and the candidate is required to attempt the 50 questions in 60 minutes. There is no negative marking.

What is O/A/B/C level course?

In the non-form sector, NIELIT is offering courses as:

• level which is equivalent to Foundation Level
• A level which is equivalent to Advance Diploma
• B level which is equivalent to MCA
• C level which is equivalent toM.Tech Level

All these courses are recognised by the Ministry of Education for the purpose of employment.

How many papers can a student apply in a single attempt?

There is no specific number as such but in each level student need to complete the papers in the stipulated period.

What is the minimum mark required for qualifying modules of O/A/B/C level examination?

To qualify, a minimum of 50% marks is required in each module.

Can student get the registration fee back, in case his/her application is rejected?

Registration fee is one time non refundable charges against the Registration Application process. It is neither refundable nor adjustable against any other payments/purpose.

If a student has cleared first 10 papers of B level, can he/she get “A” level certificate?

Yes, “A” level is a sub-set of “B” Level and you can get “A” Level certificate after clearing theory papers, practical and project corresponding to “A” level under “B” level syllabus.

What is the validity period of Registration of different Levels?

Registration for “O” and “A” level is valid for 10 (ten) consecutive examinations i.e. 5 years and “B” / “C” level is valid for 12 (Twelve) consecutive examinations i.e. 6 years.

Is a candidate required to seek Registration for every Examination?

No, Registration for each Examination is not required till the Registration number allotted for the level concerned is valid.

What is the remedy if a candidate fails to qualify all papers within the validity period of the Registration?

If a candidate fails to qualify all papers of a particular Level within the validity period of the Registration, he/she has to Re-Register and appear for the remaining papers. Validity of the Registration will then be extended for one time another full term i.e. 5/6 years to clear the left-out papers/project/practical’s. One can apply for Re-Registration within a one year after the expiry of the validity of his/her registration.

What are components to be cleared during the validity period of Registration?
