It is a CSC SPV initiative in the area of female hygiene for making and providing sanitary napkins at an affordable price to especially the rural and tribal women of India under the brand name Stree Swabhiman.

Any citizen of India can setup this Unit by investing setup cost.

Equipments that are used in the unit include: • Rolling raw material device

Raw materials that are required for making this product are: • Virgin Wood Pulp sheet
• Gel Sheet
• Non-Woven White Sheet
• Silicon Tape Paper
• PE Back Sheet (White Color)
• Gum Eco friendly
• Packaging material as per Govt. Norms

Minimum 5 women (adult) workers should be engaged in the unit.

In a day 500-700 pieces can be produced depending upon manpower’s practice of job and efficiency.

These pads are made-up of wood pulp, Gel sheet and non-woven sheet. These all are virgin, eco-friendly & hygienic material without bleach & any other chemicals reactive to skins.
Stree Swabhiman Pads have following advantages:
1. Gel sheet helps in locking the liquid into Gel and restrict flow outside the pads by its Gel lock technology.
2. Wood-pulp helps to soften the pads and takes care the sensitive skins.
3. Material used to cover the pads is non-woven sheet which makes the user irritation free.
4. The product is bio-degradable and environment-friendly.

These napkins are developed by experience workforce (women worker) under a very hygenic condition maintaining the standard GoI norms.

These pads are comfortable and soft for the skin. Virgin wood pulp sheet & non-woven sheet used in this pad wick moisture away and absorb heavy quantity of flow and leave you feeling drier.

Pads created under the Stree Swabhiman initiative contain Gel lock technology which helps the pads without leakage for more than 6 to 8 hours. It is advisable to change the pad after 6 hrs.

There are 8 sanitary Napkins in a single packet.

One can sell sanitary napkins in nearby Schools, Colleges, Medical Halls, Hospitals etc. that will enhance awareness about menstruation among girls.

Waste material can be utilized to prepare pads for the women after delivery and it can be sold out or delivered to the hospitals.

CSC will release CSR Fund for maximum 150 girl school/college students (Government) per month after receiving utilization report in prescribed format for free distribution of sanitary napkin pad subjected to fund availability.

At least 42,000-45,000 pads to be made with 50,000 raw material ordered depending upon the worker efficiency and wastages, in the same manner at least 24,000–26,000 pads must be made with 30,000 raw material order.
