Jeevan Pramaan is a biometric enabled digital service for pensioners. Pensioners of Central/StateGovernment or any other Government organization can take benefit of this facility.

One of the major requisites for the pensioners post their retirement from service, is to provide lifecertificates to the authorized pension disbursing agencies, following which their pension iscredited to their account. In order to get this life certificate, the pensioner is required to eitherpersonally present before the Pension Disbursing Agency or have the Life Certificate issued byauthority where he/she has served earlier and have it delivered to the disbursing agency.

This very requirement of personally being present in front of the disbursing agency for getting alife certificate often becomes a major hurdle in the process of seamless transfer of pension amountto the pensioner. Digital Life Certificate for Pensioners known as Jeevan Pramaan seeks to addressthis very problem by digitizing the whole process of securing the life certificate.Jeevan Pramaan is Aadhaar based Digital Life Certificate for Pensioners. It enables the pensionerto generate a digital life certificate using a software application and secure Aadhar basedBiometric Authentication System

The service of providing Jeevan Pramaan to the pensioners was on offer through the CSCs duringApril, 2017 to November, 2017. Due to a circular issued by the UIDAI, CSCs stoppedoffering this service since December, 2017 but CSCs resumed offering this service in November, 2018 across the country.
