CSC Academy brings online skill course on Optical Fiber Splicing with the industry experts. The program offers basic skill training on preparing and splicing of the optical fiber cable, testing effectiveness of the splice using optical time-domain reflectometer (OTDR) and power meter, installation and commissioning of cable as per route plan.

Optical Fiber Splicing is a technique used to join two optical fiber cable. This technique is used in optical fiber communication, in order to form long optical links for better and long distance signal transmission. Splicers are basically couplers that form a connection between two fibers or fiber bundles.

Objective of the programme is to skill one lakh rural youth on Optical Fibre Splicing course which will be further responsible for the maintenance and up keep the BharatNet Network at GP level as first-level of maintenance. It will result in minimizing disruption to service delivery over BharatNet to the Gram Panchayats (GPs).

Candidates will attain certification from the renowned Telecom Sector Skill Council (TSSC) after completion of all training modules under the course.
