Telemedicine Consultation

Telemedicine is derived from a Greek word Tele meaning ‘distance’ and a Latin word mederi meaning ‘to heal. Tele-Medicine means distance healing.

Telemedicine is the form of primary care, where the patient walking in at a CSC seeks the doctor's advice about non-emergency medical problems which don't require immediate doctor’s location visit. It doesn't replace face-to-face consultation when it is needed, but complements it. CSC-SPV has provided VLEs an access to two platforms which are integrated on Digital Seva for providing tele-consultation services to rural masses through which a patient can take consultations in any of the following specialties:

  • • Homeopathy
  • • Ayurveda
  • • Veterinary

Tele-Health Consultation is offered through the CSCs across the Country on three platforms:

  • 1. Apollo Tele-Health Service
  • 2. CSC’s own Tele-Medicine service
  • 3. Mfine Tele-Medicine Consultation

Features of Telemedicine Platforms

Apollo Telemedicine Platform

  • • Started in 2014
  • • Requires a minimum bandwidth of 512 KBPS-1 MBPS for operating
  • • General physician & Super specialty doctors (cardiologist, Dermatologist etc) available for consultation during the working hours
  • • Consultations by appointments only
  • • Languages available: English, Hindi, Telugu

CSC Telemedicine Platform

  • • Started in Dec-2016
  • • Requires a minimum bandwidth of 216 KBPS for operating
  • • General physician, Homeopathic & Ayurveda doctors & Veterinary available for consultation during the working hours
  • • Instant video conferencing facility also enabled on the platform
  • • Unique health IDs created during registration can be used to identify patient history & prescriptions provided earlier
  • • Languages available: English, Hindi, Bengali, Marathi

Mfine

  • • Mfine is mobile health platform that aggregates branded hospitals to deliver on-demand healthcare services to patients.
  • • Its Artificial Intelligence (AI) platform helps in improving doctor productivity and quality of diagnosis.
  • • By using the Mfine app patients reach quality doctors within 10 minutes, consult with them and get the prescription.
  • • Hospitals that are presently available through Mfine offers on-demand consultancy in several fields such as general medicine, pediatrics, dermatology, gynecology, dietetics, orthopedics, fertility, cardiology, pulmonology, and many more.
  • • The Mfine app lets patients select the hospital and the doctor with whom they wish to talk to. Patients can directly chat or do a video consult with doctors.
  • • The Mfine app allows patients to upload images, past medical records, and prescriptions.
  • • It additionally helps patients store previous their medical history and set reminders for the medicines for better adherence to the given prescriptions
